Wire and Wire Black are a display typeface family. They were inspired by simple rounded forms, and thin connecting lines. Wire Black is designed to be utilized for posters, signs, labels, etc. Wire is a delicate outlined alternative. Wire Black is heavier, and meant to be bold, eye-catching, and engaging.
Wire and Wire Black were created after I found a similar letterform G that stood out to me. I had been working on a different typeface at the time, which wasn’t really clicking for me. When I found this letterform I immediatly loved the similar thin and thick line combinations. That night, I sketched out my thoughts for the whole family of letters. The next day, I formed my grid, and immediatly began making one letter after another. After a few modifications, and simplifications, I found my alphabet.
